One of the main issues in Hatfield East Ward is parking. For the people of Old Hatfield there should be a consolation starting in September 2009 regarding parking in and around the Old Town with various ideas, which hopefully will help with the parking problems.

Welwyn Hatfield Community Chest has been created to empower local councillors and their communities to identify and then seek funding for small ward-based improvements. It does this by:



· Helping to clarify and agree the local priorities, issues, needs and aspirations of our local wards;

· Reflecting the aims of residents and other key partners such as Town and Parish Councils, Community Associations and other voluntary groups;

· Encouraging councillors and residents to work together to meet local needs and to enhance local quality of life; and

· Creating an innovative councillor-led approach to funding important local projects which is both fair and transparent to all.
