Welcome to my website

Thank you for taking time to visit my website.  I'm proud to represent residents of Welwyn and The Ayots, and always look forward to meeting and hearing from you.  You can get in touch with me either by using the "Contact Me" button on this page, or by dropping in to our monthly "Meet your Councillor" session (see "Events and Surgery Times").

If you have a problem that the Council has not dealt with, please get in touch with me or Andrew Canter, who is your other Councillor in Welwyn West.  If your problem is with the County Council, then you should contact Councillor Richard Smith, who represents Welwyn on the County Council.  Information on which Council (including Welwyn Parish Council) is responsible for which service is available here.

My interests have always been environmental, and I sit on the Council's Cabinet as the Executive Member for Planning & Environmental Health.  I'm also on the Cabinet Planning & Transportation Panel, and the Highways Joint Member Panel.  I am the Council's representative on the Women's Refuge and the Welwyn Hatfield CVS, as well as the East of England Regional Assembly.

Representing the Council on the Women's Refuge has really made me aware of the enormity of domestic violence.  If you are suffering as a result of domestic violence, or would like to learn more, see the section on "Domestic Violence" on my webpage.

I have lived with my husband in the Oaklands area of Welwyn for over twenty years and, until I was made redundant some years ago, commuted to Docklands daily.  I worked in the Corporate Finance department of a large investment bank - where I had worked for thirty years.
