Thousands flock to Warley Woods picnic
This year’s picnic in the park (16th July) proved more popular than ever with an estimated 3,500 people enjoying the sunshine (or shade) and the afternoon of entertainment.
Carl Chinn did a fantastic job for us, running the whole of his three hour Sunday afternoon show from the event and interviewing dozens of people. And, the entertainment was brilliant.
The growing popularity of the annual picnic is a sure testament to the efforts of Warley Woods Community Trust and the strength of the local community. We can feel rightly proud of our achievements as the only park of this size in the country (100 acres) to be run by a local community organisation.
A massive thank you to everyone who put in hundreds of hours preparing for the picnic as well as work on the day.
