I became the Borough's Mayor on the 18th May 2010 and my husband, Councillor Mr David Hinton is my Consort. My Mayoral year ended on the 24th May 2011.
My chosen charity was The Alzheimer's Society, who provide care and support services in West Bromwich and McMillan Cancer Support covering Sandwell, which supports people living with cancer and their families through specialist Macmillan Nurses. We managed to raise in the region of £22,000 with monies still coming in.
I would like to thank everyone that supported these Charities.
I chose these charities because I have experienced at first hand the excellent work they did when her parents needed their help.
The duties of the Deputy Mayor were undertaken by Councillor Mrs Joyce Underhill and her Consort is Cllr Mr Anthony Underhill.
You will see from the photos below that I had a very busy and enjoyable Mayoral year.
