Sharon O'Brien Biography
Sharon is married to John and they have a daughter Fiadnait. She is a longstanding member of Sinn Féin and was a successful election agent for Councillor Barney McAleer.
A committed party activist, Sharon has significant experience of dealing with a diverse range of constituency issues. Sharon was elected as a Sinn Féin councillor for the Mid Tyrone area in the local government elections in 2005.
Sharon is a stalwart supporter of St. Teresa’s Loughmacrory GFC and is involved in the local play group. She will add value to the work of the Sinn Fein grouping on Omagh District Council.
Blackout to hundreds of homes in Mid Tyrone.
Sinn Fein councillor for Mid Tyrone Sharon O'Brien has written to NIE to highlight her concern at recent blackouts of a large area of Mid Tyrone. She has also said she expects full and frank explanations why NIE costumers were left without electricity last week.
Sinn Féin slams post office closures.
Sinn Fein councillor Sharon O'Brien has slammed the decision to close almost 100 post offices throughout the north of Ireland . 42 branches will close completely without some form of service being provided whilst 54 branches will have an 'outreach service'. Tyrone is one of the areas affected worse by the closures.
