Welcome to my website

Hello, and thank you for visiting my website.

You can contact me by telephone on Hastings 421052 or you can send me an email through the 'Contact Me' link to the left of the screen or via cllr.dominic.sabetian@hastings.gov.uk  You can also write to me at the Town Hall, Hastings TN34 1QR.

I have lived in Braybrooke Ward for some 26 years and was first elected as a Labour Borough Councillor in 2002 and was re-elected in 2004 and 2008.  I work very closely with my fellow Labour ward councillor Godfrey Daniel, who is also the County Councillor for Braybrooke & Castle Division.

I was born in London and graduated with a BA(Hons) in Economics and Politics from Oxford University followed by a Masters degree from the University of Toronto.  I have lived in Hastings since 1975, am married to Anna and am a director of an English Language school in the town.

On the Hastings Borough Council I am currently a member of the Overview & Scrutiny Committee for Resources and I am on the Traffic Management Committee.  I am also a Council representative on the Friends of Alexandra Park and on the Hastings International Chess Congress.  I am on the Committee of our local residents group, Better Braybrooke, and am a governor at the local primary school, St Paul's.

If there are any problems in Braybrooke Ward that you are having difficulties with and you think that I can help then please do not hesitate to get in touch with me or my fellow councillor, Godfrey Daniel.

Save Hastings Pier! Sign the petition and keep pressing the Council
Thanks to the massive local concern about the pier's future the 'Friends of Hastings Pier' was formed which could be the precursor to a Hastings Pier Trust, one possible avenue to safeguarding the pier's future. People are showing the strength of feeling by signing a petition and around 2000 came on a march last October.

New library for Hastings
Cllr Daniel and I have long campaigned for a new library and last year introduced a motion, which received overwhelming support, calling on the County Council to provide a building with modern library facilities in central Hastings and this has now been agreed.
