I am one of 3 Sinn Fein Councillors elected to represent the people of the Northland District Electoral Area (DEA) of Derry City Council. I was co-opted onto Council in April 2012. There are 10 Sinn Féin Councillors in total across the Council area.
The Northland DEA includes the residential areas of Ballymagroarty, Hazelbank, Creggan Road, Crevagh, Foyle Springs, Pennyburn, Rosemount, Springtown, Strand, Fountain, Foyle Road, Diamond, Buncrana Road and Derry City Centre.
The Northland DEA is also home to Derry's largest private sector employer, Seagate Technologies, and the Magee College campus of the University Of Ulster. The North West Regional College and the entire city centre business and shopping precinct are also to be found within the Northland boundaries.
