Rushmoor Borough Council, Mayfield Ward
Councillor Craig Card

Keeping you informed about my work as a councillor

Welcome to my website. I hope you find my personal website to be a useful source of information about my work and the activities of the wider council, but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to use the 'contact me' button to drop me a line.

I am the Liberal Democrat Councillor for Mayfield Ward (which is boundaried by Mayfield Road, Cherry Wood Road and Chapel Lane and includes The Prospect Estate and The Westbrook Estate) along with two other Lib-Dem councillors, Charlie Fraser-Fleming and Neville Dewey.

I've been on the council since 1991. I first got involved in politics after a school trip to the House of Commons where I met MPs from all three political parties. Having considered all of their policies, I chose my party and decided to get involved in local politics. Currently, the issues that I am most concerned about are the development of the town centres - both Aldershot and Farnborough. Within my ward, the flooding in Covebrook, and the new multi-use games pitch in Water Lane.

I am currently a member of the Development Control Committee and the Corporate Services Policy and Review Panel

My previous roles on the council have included a spell as the Deputy Vice-Chairman of the Housing Committee (1995/96), Chairman of the Development Control Committee (1997/8)the Vice-Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee (1999/00) and the Chairman of the Electoral Arrangements Sub-Committee (1999/00).

Aside from being a councillor, I am a self-employed printer. While local politics takes up most of my spare time, I also play snooker, enjoy going to the cinema and take trips to the South Coast whenever I can.

With best wishes

Craig Card
